Engine Bay
A native macOS database manager. Your local Postgres, MySQL, Redis, Mongo and more, running in one window, without the terminal.
Local databases, one window
Postgres first, then MySQL, Redis, Mongo, SQLite and MariaDB. Your local databases managed from a single native app instead of five.
Built for real tables
Edit cells inline, page through large tables, and keep the controls you need close to the data.
A SQL editor that keeps up
Write and run queries in a real editor. Run them and see results right below. The loop you actually work in.
Homebrew does the plumbing
Start and stop your local engines from the app. It drives Homebrew under the hood so you never touch the terminal to bring a database up.
Questions
Which databases does it support?
Postgres to start, with MySQL, Redis, Mongo, SQLite and MariaDB on the way, all in the same window.
Is it a real native app?
Yes. Engine Bay is built with SwiftUI and AppKit, targeting macOS 14 and later.
Where do my credentials live?
Secrets go in the macOS Keychain. Non-secret connection metadata stays on your Mac. Nothing is synced anywhere.
When can I use it?
It's in active development, Postgres first. Get on the list and we'll tell you when it's ready.
